Black Preaching The Weight of the World the Light of the Word Finding Hope in a Troubled Time My sisters and brothers gather round for I bring you a message from the Lord Were livin in times that try our souls times that test our faith times that make us wonder if the Lord is even listening But let me tell you He aint just listening Hes watching Hes working and Hes got a plan The world today its a mighty river churnin and roarin tossin us about like leaves in a storm We see division Communities torn apart families fractured hearts hardened by hate We see despair The weight of injustice the sting of poverty the burden of sickness all pressing down on us We see fear Fear of the future fear of the unknown fear that maybe God aint got our back Now I aint gonna sugarcoat it these are hard times But just like the prophet Isaiah said He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak Isaiah 4029 This aint the time to fold This aint the time to give up This is the time to remember what the Lord has done what Hes doing and what Hes gonna do The Word is our Light The world may be dark but we got a light a light that shines brighter than any storm cloud the Word of God The Word gives us hope It reminds us that even in the darkest night the Lord is our light and our salvation Psalm 271 The Word gives us strength It empowers us to stand tall to fight for whats right to love even when it hurts Philippians 413 The Word gives us guidance It shows us the path to walk the way to live the truth that sets us free John 832 Finding Strength in Community Now I aint saying its easy Were all gonna stumble were all gonna fall But we aint gotta do it alone Thats what the church is for thats what our community is for 2 Lets lift each other up Be a shoulder to lean on a hand to hold a voice to cheer Lets share our burdens Dont carry it all yourself Let your brothers and sisters share your load and you share theirs Lets pray for one another The power of prayer is real my friends Lets pray for strength for guidance for hope Our Journey is Not Over Dont let the darkness steal your joy dont let the storm extinguish your flame Remember the words of the Psalmist The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear The Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid Psalm 271 Were on a journey and it aint gonna be easy There will be trials there will be tribulations but there will also be victories there will be triumphs there will be grace We gotta hold fast to our faith to our hope to our love The Lord is with us and He will never leave us So let us stand strong let us stand together let us stand for what is right let us stand for love let us stand for justice let us stand for hope Amen Hallelujah
