Diary Of A Baby Wombat Diary of a Wombat Adventures in the Burrow Day 1 The Big Snuggle Today was my first day out in the world Or at least the first day I remember Mom had been pushing me around in this dark cozy place for ages I think its called a pouch Anyway it was a bit cramped but she was always there warm and safe I was scared at first Everything was so big and loud But then I saw Mom and she gave me a big lick on the nose That made me feel better I think it was a good day Day 7 Im a Digger Today Mom took me for my first dig It was amazing The earth felt soft and cool under my tiny claws I dug and dug but I didnt get very far Mom said Ill be a pro digger in no time I think she might be right Im really good at it Day 14 Yummy Grub Today Mom introduced me to the best thing ever grass It tasted so good even though Im not really sure how to eat it yet Mom helped me chew and I even got a little bit in my pouch It was a messy experience but I think Im getting the hang of it Day 21 The Great Escape Today I almost got lost I was exploring the burrow and I forgot where the entrance was It was dark and scary I started to cry and Mom came running to save me She gave me a big hug and told me to be careful I promise I will be Day 28 Family Time Today was a fun day My siblings and I played in the dirt all day We chased each other rolled around and even had a little fight over who got the biggest piece of grass Mom was laughing at us but I think she was mostly just happy we were playing together Day 35 Life in the Burrow Life in the burrow is pretty good Its warm and safe and theres always something to do I love playing with my siblings digging in the dirt and eating all the yummy grass I also like to snuggle up to Mom Shes so soft and warm 2 Day 42 The Big World Today Mom took me outside the burrow for the first time It was amazing Everything was so big and bright I saw lots of interesting things tall trees green grass and even a big brown bird I was a little scared at first but Mom was there and I felt safe Day 49 Exploring the Bush Today I learned how to sniff out delicious things Mom taught me that the best way to find grub is to follow my nose I sniffed around the bush and found all sorts of yummy things berries roots and even some juicy worms Day 56 Making New Friends Today I met a new friend It was another wombat just a little bit older than me We played together for hours It was the best day ever I cant wait to see him again Day 63 The Importance of Digging Today I learned that digging is more than just fun Its how wombats build their homes protect themselves from predators and find food Im getting better at digging every day and Im proud of my skills Day 70 A Wombats Life Im getting bigger and stronger every day Im learning all about being a wombat from how to dig to how to find the best grub I love exploring the bush and making new friends Life as a wombat is pretty great
